Project Highlight: Mount Martha Treatment Plant Shade Canopy
This project involved the installation of a commercial shade canopy designed specifically to mitigate the risk of contamination exposure during the final treatment stages of sewage processing. The treated sewage produces Class A recycled water, which is reused onsite and distributed to local customers. The remaining water is safely released through the South Eastern Outfall at Boags Rocks, making it crucial to maintain stringent safety standards in this environment.
Project Details
- Client Requirement: The primary objective was to develop a shade solution that would effectively cover the treatment areas, protecting the processes from environmental contaminants and maintaining high operational standards.
- Solution: We designed a robust canopy, measuring 270m², fabricated from Comshade in Midnight Green, a heavy-duty shade fabric known for its durability and UV resistance. The flexible membrane was expertly stretched between multiple anchor points, similar to our renowned shade sails, ensuring stability and strength against the harsh Australian weather.
Materials Used
Canopy Fabric: The canopy was constructed using Comshade fabric from Nolans. This heavy-duty material has a proven track record in providing effective shade and weather protection, making it ideal for demanding environments like water treatment facilities. The Midnight Green colour not only blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings but also adds to the overall aesthetic of the plant.
